Lexandra Etzel, SLEA Liaison
In her other-side-of-the-moon, Lexandra (or Lex) has been into international cultural relations and cultural heritage preservation for several years now, working as a professional in management and legal affairs related fields. As traveling across Europe, where she is from, she realized more and more how Art and Culture, as well as being essential nourishment for any human soul, can be crucial channels of dialogue and mutual knowledge between both individuals and peoples all around the World.
In the same spirit and (almost) in the same way, being an assiduous explorer and driver in SL, in her long car rides around the continents of the Mainland (with a deep preference for the enchanting Sansara), as well as attending for long time museums, art galleries, theaters, music venues, etc. Lex could see what an incredible level of creativity and expressiveness the SL community can boast.
Thus, in the art “global” arena of Second Life, embracing the mission of the SLEA and joining it as a Liaison in July 2023 has been an amazing choice/challenge to her. A mission she firmly believes in and to which she also wishes to put her brick, whether small or big, as a Project Thinker and developer following her RL skills.
This is even though Lex doesn’t consider herself an Artist per se (although in the past she was author of orchestral music of the epic and fantasy genre, even if only at an amateur level).
Seriously open-minded to any art and cultural project, in her RL Lex is nevertheless a Lawyer devoted to Human Rights and staunch advocate of the rights to Cultural Identity of individuals, minorities, or even entire Peoples. As such, in both worlds she is terribly idiosyncratic to any form of stereotype, prejudice, and misrepresentation. Including those that unintentionally and in good faith can be sometimes delivered by just a simple word, image, movie a/o theater scene, etc
Lexandra is an “augmentationist” since her SL beginnings in 2007, so that she still lives SL as just a further “floor” of her RL. Furthermore, she is a happily TG bi-gender M2F person in both RL and SL (pronouns in SL: she/her).
